"The order data has been synchronized, and the inspection results are qualified. Packing and shipping can be arranged!" Recently, at the production base of Henan Dongli Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., foreign trade manager Zhang Lihong reviewed the digital production management system while cross-checking shipping information with workshop staff.

In the workshop, rolls of high-precision copper and aluminum strips are intelligently inspected and accurately sorted before being smoothly discharged from the production line. Meanwhile, real-time data updates on a large screen connect every production step—from raw material replenishment and scheduling to quality inspection and packaging—linking together what once relied on manual experience into a seamlessly integrated intelligent management system.

These changes stem from Dongli Heavy Industry's proactive pursuit of transformation.

Copper-aluminum strips and busbars, among other new materials, are essential foundational materials in modern industrial systems, widely used in power transmission, new energy vehicles, aerospace, and other fields.

With the rapid development of related industries, downstream customers have raised higher requirements for the performance, stability, and consistency of basic materials. Even minor flaws or deviations can affect subsequent usage.  

Recalling the technical bottlenecks faced by the company in its early years, Chen Shengli, General Manager of Dongli Heavy Industries, shared deep insights. "In the past, relying on manual inspection and experience-based control not only led to inefficiency but also made it difficult to consistently improve product stability. Without transforming traditional production models, enterprises struggle to cross the threshold of high-end manufacturing."

Facing the wave of industrial upgrading, Dongli Heavy Industry did not remain in the comfort zone of "being able to produce" and "having orders," but firmly embarked on the path of technological innovation and digital empowerment.

Focusing on key aspects of strip processing, the company has continuously increased R&D investment, independently developing a series of core patented technologies such as metal strip deburring devices and edge rounding. These innovations precisely address industry challenges like uneven strip edges and insufficient surface finish, enabling fine polishing of ultra-thin strips as thin as 0.1 millimeters and effectively reducing product defects at the source.

"In the past, solving problems relied more on experienced craftsmen repeatedly adjusting through trial and error. Now, we focus on improving processes, upgrading equipment, and leveraging data analysis," said Chen Shengli. "The transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry cannot be achieved by merely modifying a single piece of equipment or a single production process. It requires coordinated improvement across the entire chain of research, production, testing, and management.".

Beyond technological innovation, digitalization and intelligence serve as another "key" for Dongli Heavy Industries to enhance its core competitiveness.

Seizing the opportunity of the digital transformation pilot program for small and medium-sized enterprises in Luoyang, enterprises will comprehensively build an intelligent management platform integrating MES production execution system and OA office management system, realizing full process digital control of production scheduling, raw material replenishment, equipment maintenance, quality control, data statistics and other links, and completing the transformation from "manual duty" to "data duty", from "experience production" to "intelligent manufacturing".

The dual empowerment of technological iteration and digital transformation has enabled Dongli Heavy Industry to continuously optimize its product matrix and enhance its market competitiveness. Over the past five years, Dongli Heavy Industry's revenue has climbed from less than 200 million yuan to 830 million yuan, reaching a historic high; In the first quarter of 2026, the company achieved a revenue of 226 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.43%, and the development momentum continued to improve.

Last May, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during his inspection in Henan that modern manufacturing cannot do without technological empowerment, and that we must vigorously strengthen technological research and development, and take the path of independent innovation.

Dongli Heavy Industry's innovative breakthrough is not only a microcosm of Luoyang's manufacturing enterprises moving towards high-end, intelligent, and green development, but also a vivid portrayal of the high-quality development of the city's private economy.

As an important pillar of high-quality development and a key force in modernization construction, by 2025, the private economy in the city will contribute half of the tax revenue, over 60% of the regional GDP, over 70% of the technology contract turnover, and over 80% of the new urban labor employment, with market entities accounting for 97.4%.

If the private economy is active, it will have sufficient development momentum. In recent years, our city has continuously optimized the business environment, introduced a series of special policies to empower the development of the private economy, established a joint conference mechanism with multiple departments, and regularly carried out the "Ten Thousand People Helping Ten Thousand Enterprises" activity to facilitate the closed-loop disposal of enterprise demands and promote the efficient resolution of enterprise development problems.
